My Philosophy

I'm dedicated to making your pregnancy journey and birth a memorable experience.

I am always here for you to answer any questions and concerns you have to help you learn more about what you will be experiencing. Having a child is one of the most beautiful experiences that is life-changing. No matter what problems may arise I will be there to help. Your birth partner can participate as much or as little as he/she wants. I am here to cater to your needs whether its a listening ear, shoulder to cry on or you want me to accompany you to your doctor's appointments,  I am here for you.

My Story

My name is Tawana Johnson, I've always had a passion for working with women and children since I was younger. At an early age, I always surrounded myself with babies, babysitting, and children. Early on I desired to enter the medical field and make a difference in the lives of others.

In 2000 I began working as a Medical Assistant where I spent time working in a rural health clinic. I spent several years in obstetrics and three in pediatrics prior to deciding to pursue being a doula full-time.

My first delivery in a doula role was in the summer of 2000, that's when I knew this was where I belonged. I am a very compassionate person when it comes to and taking care of others. I support women's views and make sure they are well informed with accurate information. I will advocate on your behalf from the beginning to the end of your pregnancy. I will not make decisions for you but will make you aware and well informed of all options so you make the best choices about your care.

I'm a mother of four, Tah'Ajaih, Jurnee NaTai, Tah'Jai, and Jerrod. I breastfed all four and I delivered my oldest two naturally. My youngest daughter was delivered by cesarean due to complete placenta previa. Because of the placenta previa, I was placed on full bed rest at 5 months and then hospital bed rest at 7 months and delivered by emergency cesarean at 33 weeks for the baby's failure to thrive. My youngest son was a repeat cesarean due to previous postpartum cardiomyopathy.

I know how to deal with things unplanned, complications, and emergency situations. I am here to guide you and hold your hand through it all. No matter what you're faced with, no matter what decision you choose to make, and how you want to handle the pain I will never judge you. I will stand with you in any decisions you chose to make.
